Biography
Gospel singer, songwriter, and pianist Mary-Kathryn entered the world in Cuero, TX, where she grew up and started piano lessons during childhood. In junior high she took up the cornet and French horn while also beginning to sing in church. She completed a B.A. in journalism at Texas State University and later enrolled at the School of the Psalmist in Dallas, TX, to study the presentation of worship music—an experience that equipped her for a performing career and prompted her to start writing songs and recording demos. Her first release, Perfect Gift, debuted via an appearance on the Trinity Broadcasting Network program Gospel America, where Pat Boone made the introduction. The follow-up, Stream in the Desert, came out in 1998 on her own Rhythm House imprint. One Spirit arrived next on October 31, 2000, and her fourth album, Dreams & Visions, followed on August 21, 2007.
