Matilda Lyn

Matilda Lyn crafts songs around delicate, softly rendered melodies carried by a trembling vocal delivery, layering in electronic textures that deepen the sense of personal closeness. She first presented this approach through successive singles issued throughout 2023, every one of which later appeared on her initial EP, A Bowl of Unripe Fruit.

Born in Gothenburg, Sweden, Matilda Lyn began composing material while still a child, a pursuit that guided her to Musikmakarna, the Swedish music academy. At the school she acquired production skills while continuing to refine her own compositions. After completing her studies in 2021, she moved to Los Angeles and signed with Giant Records, the reactivated imprint originally founded by Irving Azoff in the 1990s and now overseen by his son Jeffrey.

Matilda Lyn’s first single, “A Bowl of Unripe Fruit,” appeared in June 2023 and was followed in each of the next four months by “Wait for Me,” “Dead Ends,” “Fooled by September,” and “Down, Down, Down.” The EP A Bowl of Unripe Fruit came out in November 2023, incorporating two additional tracks beyond the earlier releases.
