Biography
Since the mid-1970s Matt Balitsaris has made New York City his home while establishing himself as a guitarist whose work spans avant-garde jazz, world music, and inventive fusion. Across his career he has contributed both on guitar and in the studio to projects by C'est What, Loose Shoes, Mino Cinelu, Cecil McBee, Dewey Redman, Fred Hersch, saxophonist Cornelius Bumpus, and numerous other artists. He has also issued two duo albums with vibraphonist and percussionist Jeff Berman.
