Matt Boswell

Matt Boswell has worked as a CCM performer, songwriter, pastor, and worship leader across multiple Texas congregations beginning in the late 1990s. His sound blends warm country textures with alt-rock elements, and he has become recognized through the Messenger Hymns EP series as well as releases such as the 2010 album Gravity and Gladness and the 2019 project His Mercy Is More, recorded with Matt Papa. Boswell also wrote the book Doxology & Theology.

After completing studies at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, he took the role of Pastor of Ministries and Worship at Providence Church in Frisco, Texas. His first full-length recording, Enter In, came out in 2005, with Gravity and Gladness following in 2010. Two years after that release, the Messenger Hymns, Vol. 1 EP appeared. Boswell established the Doxology & Theology theological community and issued a book under the same title in 2013. Additional installments in the Messenger Hymns EP series continued over the ensuing years, and in 2018 he started Trails Church, likewise located in Frisco. The 2019 collaborative album His Mercy Is More with fellow worship artist Matt Papa debuted at number four on Billboard's Christian chart.
