Biography
Before joining the pop/rock outfit Maroon 5, drummer Matt Flynn had performed with the B-52's and Gavin DeGraw. In late 2004, he joined the group on a temporary basis when original drummer Ryan Dusick could no longer play due to injuries sustained from extensive touring. Tasked with mastering the band's repertoire in merely a few nights, Flynn continued performing alongside Maroon 5 for more than twelve months until his status became official in September 2006, following the failure of Dusick's injuries to recover. The 2007 follow-up album It Won't Be Soon Before Long marked his first recording contribution to the band.
