Matt Harris

As a multi-instrumentalist, Matt Harris contributed to recordings by Neil Young, Chicago, Richard Marx, Leon Russell, among additional artists, yet his debut solo project did not appear before 2002. Released that year under the title Slightly Elliptical Orbit on Leon Russell's own imprint, the effort featured Russell's collaborative input on nine out of its dozen tracks. In a promotional statement, Russell characterized his protégé's musical inclinations with notable precision by stating, "I asked Matt where he got his classical training, and he answered 'from Journey and Foreigner.'"
