Biography
Hailing from Barnegat Light, New Jersey, Matt McAndrew established himself in Philadelphia’s music community after earning his degree from the University of the Arts in 2013. To finance his debut album View of the Pines, released in March 2014, the singer-songwriter performed locally while holding jobs as a music instructor and grocery-store clerk. That summer he earned a spot on Season 7 of The Voice, which premiered in September; mentored by Adam Levine of Maroon 5, his polished tone and straightforward style made him a viewer favorite and carried him to runner-up behind country singer Craig Wayne Boyd in the December 2014 finale. His final Voice single, “Wasted Love,” reached the Billboard Top 20 and hit number one on the iTunes pop chart in the closing weeks of 2014.
