Hawaii native Matt Sato crafts hook-driven pop that blends acoustic and electronic elements. His path into music followed an initial career in television acting, beginning with the 2017 single “I Know.”
Matt Sato entered the world in 2001 in Mililani, Hawaii, where sports occupied much of his childhood and he briefly considered training for Olympic swimming before shifting focus to performance. Acting came first during his teenage years, starting with a 2015 guest spot on Hawaii Five-O and continuing with a role in the high school series Chicken Girls. Singing soon followed, and his online presence grew rapidly. He released his first two singles, “I Know” and “Airplane Mode,” in 2017 by sharing them directly on the internet. That same year he stepped onto a stage to sing live for the first time at VidCon. In 2018 the third song, “Do You Say My Name,” appeared.
