Matt York

Born in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, rock and pop singer-songwriter Matt York grew up as the child of a high school music instructor whose guidance helped him acquire musical skills despite never pursuing structured training. His first record, Under the Streetlights, came out independently on June 27, 2005, and had moved close to 8,000 units prior to Rock Ridge Music offering him a deal that led to the November 4, 2008, launch of his follow-up effort, Mine.
