Biography
An Italian musician based in Berlin, Matteo Vallicelli crafts tense, eerie compositions in the ambient and minimal synth styles. His early recognition came from participation in Rome’s underground punk scene, where he played drums in multiple bands such as Smart Cops and Wildmen. After relocating in 2013 to Berlin’s Kreuzberg district, he began exploring electronic instruments and computer-based editing. While serving as touring drummer for the Soft Moon and Death Index, he kept refining his own solo electronic work. Captured Tracks, the label also home to the Soft Moon, issued his debut solo LP, Primo, in 2017.
