Maxmillion Dunbar, whose music sits in an orbit linking Boards of Canada with Gold Panda, operates as the solo alias of Washington, D.C.–based Andrew Field-Pickering. He shares duties in Beautiful Swimmers and runs the Future Times imprint. The alias surfaced in 2008 when Future Times put out the single “Outrageous Soulz,” an outing trailed the next year by the Bare Feet EP. Hip-hop rhythms figured prominently on the first full-length, Cool Water, which Ramp Recordings released in 2010. The follow-up album, House of Woo, surfaced via RVNG Int'l. in 2013 and leaned toward a calmer, more tranquil atmosphere.
