Biography
In 1991, Flint, Michigan native MC Breed launched his career in tandem with DFC, the duo formed by his cousin Al "Alpha" Breed and Bobby "T-Trouble E" Thompson, also known as T-Dub. The trio's self-titled album marked a breakthrough with its standout single "Ain't No Future in Yo' Frontin'," which peaked at number 12 on the Billboard rap chart, prompting MC Breed to branch out alone while Alpha and T-Trouble E carried on as DFC. Before his death in 2008, Breed assembled an extensive and widely admired catalog of solo recordings. DFC later delivered the star-studded Things in tha Hood (Big Beat/Atlantic, 1994) and the less successful The Whole World's Rotten (Penalty, 1997).
