Danish downtempo electronica production duo Melk entered the album market during 2005. The act consists of producers Anders Christophersen (aka Ormen, Aies, Pondul) and Rasmus Møbius (aka Brus), who first reached listeners commercially under the Melk name in 2004 via the track “Hummel,” included on Teeth: A Statler & Waldorf Compilation. Beyond that shared Melk project, Christophersen and Møbius also contributed to the same collection under separate guises, with Christophersen appearing as Aies in a collaboration featuring Trolle//Siebenhaar vocalist Ane Trolle, while Møbius performed as Brus. That same year, Melk issued their debut full-length album, Sports, through the Statler & Waldorf imprint. The record showcases multiple guest vocalists, among them Trolle, alongside an assortment of beat-driven approaches that center on downtempo electronica, experimental hip-hop, and dub reggae. Years afterward, Christophersen rejoined forces with Trolle inside the supergroup Balstyrko, whose first album, Jagten Paa Noget, entered the Top Ten upon its 2009 release.
