Biography
Born in Phoenix, AZ, on September 28, 1984, Melody Thornton is of Mexican and African-American descent. Her singing began early, shaping a sweet soprano voice through years spent as a backup singer until her 2003 casting in the burlesque-turned-pop group the Pussycat Dolls. She alone among the members gained entry by answering an open casting call for the group that year and stands as the sole Doll without any dance background. Thornton joined rapper Jibbs on the song "Go Too Far" from his 2006 debut album, while reports also circulate that she is developing a solo album of her own.
