Biography
Disillusioned with the upbeat, mild, empathetic, and overly cautious ethos prevalent throughout the 1990s, Mensclub's founders aimed to disrupt those norms upon assembling in 1993. Drawing from Grand Funk Railroad, The Stooges, and The MC5, Ron handling guitar and vocals, Tom on drums, and Jon on bass celebrate the straightforward fusion of 1970s rock and punk classics for audiences in their San Francisco Bay Area locale. After issuing three singles across the subsequent two years plus a track on the 1996 Probe Records various-artists effort "This Ain't No Melodic Punk," Bar/None introduced the band's debut album "Comin' To Take You Away" that same year. In 1997 Man's Ruin Records issued the follow-up LP titled "Mensclub."
