Biography
Michael Burrows is an Australian singer/songwriter whose relaxed, melody-driven approach blends pop, folk, rock, Americana, and country influences. Rooted in both classic and modern sounds, the Melbourne native draws inspiration from the Beatles, Wilco, Eagles, and Ron Sexsmith. His first major opportunity arrived in 2015 when Martha Wainwright selected him to support her Australian tour dates. Soon after, he joined forces with Grammy-winning artist Frank Meyers and additional music-industry collaborators to lay down his debut EP, following earlier demos that had already impressed Kiwi pop and rock legend Neil Finn of Crowded House; Finn later contributed vocals to two of Burrows’ studio tracks. In 2018 Burrows issued the singles “Please Don’t Cry” and “Turn This Love Around,” followed by the additional track “Brightest Star” in early 2019.
