Viruosic guitarist Michael DeLalla merges formal classical study, spontaneous improvisation, and a broad range of musical influences, earning widespread recognition for his interpretations of both traditional pieces and original material across 12-string, classical, and steel-string instruments. Beyond his personal catalog he has contributed as a guest musician to numerous projects while operating Falling Mountain Records from Winchester, VA. He first established himself as the chief songwriter of the influential band Oxymora between 1980 and 1987, after which he issued two albums alongside the Celtic trio the Unfortunate Rakes. His initial solo outing, And Then…or Somewhat Later, appeared in 1991, followed in 1995 by the holiday collection There Is One Story and One Story Only. The solo guitar set Soli arrived in 2000. Away from recording sessions, DeLalla regularly appears at concerts and festivals and serves as an instructor at guitar workshops.
