During the early 1980s singer/songwriter Michael Johnathon relocated from New York to rural Mousie, Kentucky, intent on immersing himself in the folk tradition at its source. Guitar and banjo in tow, he traveled the Appalachian Mountains, sharpening his abilities through performances at regional schools and fairs. Beyond sharing stages with Judy Collins, Billy Dean and David Gates, he also released multiple recordings, among them Troubador, Assassins in the Kingdom, Dreams of Fire and the CD/book collection WoodSongs.
