Biography
Mick Overman, a cult hero known across the West Coast as a poet, musician, and singer/songwriter, has spent his entire existence engaged in some form of performance. Born in Ohio, he accompanied his father, a rocket scientist, when the family relocated to Santa Cruz, California, amid the aerospace expansion of the 1960s. There he discovered passions for music, baseball, poetry, and public attention, going on to serve as a city council youth delegate at age 17. Having accelerated through high school in three years before leaving college, Overman connected with musicians Marty Headman and John Seth Sherman, later joining them in the groups Crosscurrent, Caledonia, and Mick Overman & the Maniacs. Among his recorded works are the albums Empty City, Lucky., Mileage, Authentic, and Good Thing Happen.
