Biography
In 1967 Mickey Murray turned a restrained imitation of Otis Redding into an unlikely pop-chart appearance when “Shout Bamalama” rose to roughly the middle of the Top 100. He cut more than a dozen tracks for SSS Int’l, yet later singles including his own “Lonely Room” and the driving funk of “Hit Record” produced no further chart movement. Collectables gathered 18 prime selections for the 1999 anthology Shout Bamalama: The Very Best of Mickey Murray.
