Biography
Having previously collaborated with multiple ensembles around Minneapolis, vocalist, lyricist, and guitarist Wes Morden established the Middle States alongside guitarist and vocalist Ben Glaros during 2003. Their initial extended play recording, titled Great Portland Street, came out via Effen Records the following year. After several personnel shifts, the group stabilized into a four-piece consisting of Morden, Glaros, bassist Peter Fleming, and drummer Craig Gallas; this lineup produced the band's first long-playing album, Happy Fun Party, which saw national distribution on January 27, 2009.
