Biography
Originating from Setúbal, Portugal, Miguel Guerreiro first attracted attention in 2008 when he entered the opening season of the television contest Uma Canção Para Ti and vied with other Portuguese youngsters aged nine to fifteen. Capturing the top prize led to a recording agreement with Farol Música. The children’s pop vocalist then issued his initial full-length project, Eu Quero Aquela Estrela, in 2009 at age ten; the collection presented youthful pop interpretations of material by established Portuguese performers such as José Cid, António Variações, Rui Veloso, Jorge Palma, Carlos do Carmo, Amália Rodrigues, and additional artists. Having built his profile on the program the prior year, Guerreiro saw the album achieve Top Ten placement on the Portuguese charts.
