Biography
In 2012 Mike Zito assembled the Wheel in Nederland, the South East Texas town he had made his home. A singer and songwriter who had already co-founded Royal Southern Brotherhood, Zito recruited Jimmy Carpenter for guitars and saxophone, Rob Lee for drums, and Scot Sutherland for bass. Ruf Records released the group’s first studio album, Gone to Texas, the following year. A live set, Songs From the Road, surfaced in 2014. Mike Zito and the Wheel returned to the studio in 2015 with their second album, Keep Coming Back.
