Mikel Rouse

Mikel Rouse received training at the Kansas City Art Institute and the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri, where his studies encompassed African and World Musics as well as the Schillinger Method of Composition. He went on to establish the Mikel Rouse Broken Consort, an ensemble that produced numerous pop music CDs. His electronic output includes Colorado Suite and Quorum, both completed in 1984. He also supplied music for the Alvin Ailey Dance Company. Additional compositions comprise Autorequiem (1994) for strings, percussion and voices, Book One for string quartet, and the piano suite Two Paradoxes Resolved.
