Miles Hunt

Miles Hunt fronted the Wonderstuff, the band from Stourbridge, England, and guided the group to chart success while projecting an unmistakable sneer. The Wonderstuff disbanded in 1994 following that summer’s Phoenix Festival. Hunt resurfaced the next year as frontman of the short-lived Vent 414. Once the project’s lone album appeared, the outfit dissolved, leaving Hunt to work solo once more. In 1998 he rejoined former Wonderstuff colleague Malcolm Treece, and the resulting acoustic duo performed across both the U.S. and U.K. March 1999 brought the release of Hunt’s first solo album, Hairy on the Inside, on Gig Records; the record reunited him with Treece and with Wonderstuff fiddler Martin Bell. Early in 2000 Hunt returned to the U.S. for another tour while readying his second full-length release, 5 Songs, which arrived later that winter.
