Biography
Loud rock outfit Millionaire, hailing from Belgium, took shape in 1999 when Tim Vanhamel—handling vocals, guitar, keyboard, and programming—assembled the lineup with Bas Remans on bass, Dave Schroyen behind the drums, and Aldo Struyf on guitar and keyboard. Vanhamel had previously played guitar with Evil Superstars, dEUS, and Eagles of Death Metal. The group laid down its debut album, Outside the Simian Flock, in 2001, after which Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age caught their set while they opened for Masters of Reality. Homme promptly booked Millionaire as tour support for QOTSA, and he stepped into the producer’s role for the band’s next release, Paradisiac, which appeared in 2005.
