Biography
Mind Over 4 came together in Los Angeles during the closing years of the 1980s as an alt-metal group whose original lineup featured Spike Xavier handling vocals, Mike Jenson on guitar, Rich Castillo playing bass, and Mark Fullerton behind the drums. Reviewers frequently drew parallels between the band and other demanding acts such as Faith No More and Prong. Across its existence the quartet put out five recordings—Out Here in 1987, a self-titled effort in 1989, The Goddess in 1990, Half Way Down in 1993, and Empty Hands in 1995—prior to disbanding.
