Minit

Jasmine Guffond and Torben Tilly established the atmospheric post-rock duo Minit in Sydney, Australia, during 1997. Across subsequent years the pair expanded their activities to include live performances and installation pieces while issuing multiple recordings on several different labels. Early collaborations involved Tonshact, which issued their 7" EP, and Sigma, home to the 1999 full-length Music; these projects helped shape a trajectory that reached its next stage with the well-received 2004 album Now Right Here on Pavone. Aligning with the broader ascent of atmospheric post-rock associated with Kranky Records in the early 21st century, Minit gradually enriched their live presentations through the addition of further instrumentation. The duo later shifted their primary base to Berlin, Germany, a locale notably receptive to experimental music.
