Biography
Mixi first rose to prominence through her appearance on the reality series Redemption Song. The singer and songwriter draws from both modern sources such as Gwen Stefani and Sublime and earlier figures including Louis Armstrong and Nancy Sinatra. She entered the world in Orlando, FL, then relocated to Hollywood, CA to follow a romantic partner. After that partnership concluded, Mixi remained in California and became a member of Anti-Product. An online advertisement led her to audition for the Fuse TV network’s 2008 edition of Redemption Song, in which she vied with ten other contestants for a record deal. Emerging victorious, she secured a contract with the Geffen label. The track that secured her win, the nostalgia-filled “I Miss Those Days (Ghost),” appeared as a digital release toward the end of that year.
