Bluegrass musician Mo Canada first picked up the guitar at age 13, and within roughly twelve months he had completed his debut album, Stoney Lonesome (1996). That record included appearances by Tony Rice, Rickie Simpkins, and Ronnie Simpkins and received favorable notices in the bluegrass press. Intent on crafting a follow-up built around his own songs, he spent the next decade composing and refining material. The result, Grassoline, appeared in October 2006 and featured contributions from Tony Rice, Rickie Simpkins, Randy Kohrs, Phil Leadbetter, Kevin Light, Darrell Webb, Chad Light, Scott Vestal, Taro Inoue, Raymond McLain, JP Mathes, and his father, Ed Canada.
