Biography
Formed as a power-pop group called the Mockingbirds, the lineup placed Mark Fuqua on lead vocals alongside guitarist Max Butler, bassist Paul Babiak, and drummer Les James. Their first album, issued on the band’s own imprint under its own name, surfaced in 1996 and drew strong praise from reviewers, only to vanish from circulation before the Not Lame label returned it to stores two years later.
