Mohamad Nasir

Mohammed Nasir came into the world on July 4, 1957, in Singapore and quickly established himself as a versatile figure within Malaysia’s entertainment industry. Fronting a local band brought his abilities to wider attention in 1978, which led the following year to a contract with Polygram Singapore and the release of his first album, Untuk Pencinta Seni. Across the next three decades he demonstrated equal skill as a songwriter and actor, issuing or appearing on more than fifteen albums—among them 2006’s Sang Pencinta—taking parts in several films, and collecting numerous industry honors. Long counted among his nation’s leading performers, Nasir attracted renewed notice through his role on the reality competition Akademi Fantasia.
