Biography
Molly Scheer, an established songwriter and vocalist who also handles fiddle and mandolin, fronts the country outfit Molly & the Heymakers. Completing the Minneapolis ensemble are guitarist Paul Bergen, drummer Scott Tate, bassist Rick Berger, and Andy Dee, whose contributions span percussion, bass, and guitar. The group seamlessly blends honky tonk, bluegrass, country-rock, and further influences into a unified style.
"Chasin' Something" marked the band's first single in 1990. Reprise Records released their self-titled debut album two years later, featuring the tracks "Mountain of Love" and "Anyone Can Be Somebody's Fool." Big Things arrived in 1995 on the Mouthpiece Records imprint, with assistance from guest musicians including Joe Lindzius, Jeff Nelson, Keith Edwards, Bruce McCabe, Anthony Martin, Charlie Bingham, Terry Crisp, and others. The album highlighted the songs "Cheap Red Wine," "All the Girls Know Your Name," and "Nice Girls Finish Last." Molly & the Heymakers completed their third album, Lucky Flame, in 1998.
