MonstrO

Atlanta, Georgia served as home base for MonstrO, which originated in 2010 once ex-Bloodsimple musicians Bevan Davies and Kyle Sanders joined forces with former Torche guitarist Juan Montoya, driven by a mutual urge to create music, and launched into jamming sessions. That connection produced an instant rapport, prompting the group to launch straight into the creation of an expansive, high-impact riff arsenal. The roster reached completion through the addition of Charlie Suarez as singer and second guitarist, after which the musicians concentrated on honing a style that echoed Montoya’s prior band Torche through its fusion of massive droning guitars, boundless energy, and an uplifting approach. The following year MonstrO entered the studio alongside Alice in Chains’ William DuVall, resulting in the summer 2011 release of the self-titled MonstrO on Vagrant Records.
