Biography
Monte Warden fuses rockabilly roots rock with honky tonk and blue-eyed soul ballads. Attention first arrived from his hometown Austin, TX scene in 1983. Warden was 15 when his trio Whoa Trigger! took Best New Band at a local awards show. Five years afterward the Wagoneers captured the same honor and emerged as a “young country” favorite, issuing the A&M albums Stout & High and Good Fortune. His debut solo record, issued under his own name, arrived in July 1993; the successor Here I Am followed in July 1995. A Stranger to Me Now appeared in 1999. Backing him on solo dates are the Lonesharks, whose lineup features guitarist Brent Wilson (an alumnus of the Wagoneers), bassist Brad Fordham, and drummer/co-producer Mas Palermo.
