Biography
More Rockers serves as a project name for the British production team of Rob Smith, previously known through his work in Smith & Mighty, alongside Peter D, who participated in an early Massive Attack configuration. The pair does not appear together on every recording, shifting involvement in a back-and-forth pattern, yet the resulting style stays consistent through its blend of jungle breakbeats, reggae, and R&B. Initial output came in the form of singles, one of which was a 1995 rendition of Roberta Flack's "First Time I Saw Your Face" that Melody Maker selected as Single of the Year. Later came full-length releases such as the 1998 album Selection 2 and the 2001 compilation Select Cuts from More Rockers, with vocals frequently supplied by Henry & Louis as well as Marilyn McFarlane.
