Biography
Sweden's Mortuus, the creation of two anonymous musicians, must be kept separate from Marduk's vocalist as well as the countless lesser-known black metal outfits that bear the identical name and haunt Europe's underground spaces. The pair originally conceived their self-titled two-song 7" single of 2005 as nothing more than a solitary summons for the planet's end. Widespread approval throughout the metal community's hidden enclaves, together with the Earth's unexpected persistence, led the musicians to relinquish their everyday occupations on the Seventh Circle of Hell and complete the full-length album De Contemplanda Morte in 2007.
