Biography
Memphis-based pair Motel Mirrors specializes in vintage country and rock sounds drawn from the 1950s and 1960s. The project unites two experienced singer/songwriters, John Paul Keith and Amy LaVere, each of whom maintains an established solo career. Keith, handling guitar and vocals, has issued multiple acclaimed recordings steeped in power pop and rockabilly traditions. LaVere, who plays double bass and sings, has put out several introspective records that blend indie rock with alt-country textures. The two first connected in 2012 and soon enlisted LaVere’s drummer Shawn Zorn to help track both original songs and selected covers. Their first album, issued under the Motel Mirrors name, appeared in 2013.
