Biography
The stylish, hard-hitting American rock band Mother Feather, based in New York City, fuses sharp '90s alt rock with glam punk and vintage rock & roll to evoke Yeah Yeah Yeahs, T. Rex, and PJ Harvey. Powerhouse vocalist Ann Courtney formed the group in 2009, choosing its name after a botched expletive, and they soon gained recognition as a formidable live act that maintained close ties with fans. The EPs Mother Feather in 2011 and Living Breathing in 2013 drew the interest of Metal Blade, which enthusiastically placed the band on its roster. Their gritty and bombastic self-titled debut album followed the next year, and the equally potent Constellation Baby arrived in 2018. On their own, the group issued the third album KICK3R in 2024, sharpening their brash N.Y.C. rock & roll style.
