Biography
Motosierra formed as a quartet in Montevideo, Uruguay, in the wake of the late-'90s breakup of local groups such as Chicos Electricos and Cross. Drawing from Dwarves, Turbonegro, Puffball, Motörhead, and G.G. Allin, the band delivered a high-velocity barrage of aggressive punk riffs, shouted vocals, and raw sleaze that amounted to pure sonic indulgence at full throttle. Marcos, Luis, Gabriel, and Walo launched their recorded career with the album XXX on No Fun, followed by multiple 7-inch singles and split releases. The same XXX material resurfaced on additional labels and in different territories, and Motosierra's Rules! LP followed the same pattern of reissues. Further output encompassed the album Kick Ass Rock 'n' Roll, a split single with Brazil's Forgotten Boys, and contributions to various tribute compilations honoring the Ramones, Turbonegro, and Zodiac Mindwarp.
