Biography
Originating in Kildare, Ireland, Mourning Beloveth assembled in 1992 around vocalist Darren Moore, drummer Tim Johnson, bassist Brian Delany, and guitarist Frank Brennan. Their style centers on ominous doom metal, enriched by melodic and atmospheric guitar textures while the vocals move between deep growls and a soaring heavy-metal wail in the manner of Bruce Dickinson. An untitled demo captured in a single eight-hour session served as their first recording in 1996, followed two years later by the second demo Autumnal Fires. In 2001 the band entered the studio with producer Magz to create the expansive debut album Dust, issued on Sentinel. Aftermath released The Sullen Sulcus the following year, and Sentinel put out a split 7" with Lunar Gate in 2003. The group signed with Grau in 2004; A Murderous Circus appeared on that label in 2005. Their fourth full-length, A Disease for the Ages, came out on Grau in 2008.
