Biography
Originating from Lakeland, Florida, Mouse Fire crafts moody yet danceable indie rock. As teenagers immersed in both music and local skateboarding scenes, Joey Bruce, who handles vocals and guitar, first encountered Shane Schuch, responsible for guitar, keys, and programming. Having each performed with different groups from Polk County, Florida, the pair connected with drummer Aaron Venrick and bassist Justin Carson, both actively involved in area bands at the time. The four musicians eventually prioritized their shared musical pursuits, abandoning prior commitments to unite as Mouse Fire in 2006. Their initial album, Wooden Teeth, came out in November 2007 via the Louisiana-based label Lujo Records.
