Biography
Emerging from the tightly interwoven East Coast stoner rock community, Murder 1 came together in 1995 and issued their first album two years afterward, the aptly named Shopping for Porn LP. Their 1999 follow-up, American Junkie, displayed equal irreverence through tracks such as "You F*cked My Girlfriend" and "We Sold Our Sperm for Rock & Roll," while also disclosing a deeper fixation on J.R.R. Tolkien that surfaced in cuts like "Helm's Deep" and "Flight of the Nazgul." The long-postponed On High finally surfaced in 2003, introducing vocalist Will Naga (ex-Novena) to Murder 1’s distinctively monikered roster of Iceberg (guitar), Job the Raver (bass), Boy Toy (piano, keys), and Bram Phetamine (drums).
