The Murder Junkies earned their primary recognition as the final ensemble behind shock rocker G.G. Allin. The group persisted following the performer’s drug-induced death in June 1993. After Allin’s release from prison in the early 1990s, when he sought to restart his recording and touring activities, his brother Merle Allin recruited the necessary musicians. Merle took the bass position himself, while Dino Sex handled drums and William Weber played guitar, the latter also maintaining ties to the Chrome Cranks. Between 1991 and 1993, G.G. Allin & the Murder Junkies completed multiple tours, issued the studio album Brutality & Bloodshed for All, and appeared in the documentary Hated. Footage in both that film and the later release Res-Erected documents the brief participation of former Ramones bassist Dee Dee Ramone, who performed on guitar.

Following G.G.’s death, the Murder Junkies employed a succession of vocalists. Antiseen frontman Jeff Clayton became the first; although this lineup finished a two-week tour in mid-1995, Clayton remained committed to Antiseen and promptly rejoined that band. Weber then introduced former Pagans member Mike Hudson as the next singer, yet Hudson’s involvement proved equally brief. Mike Denied subsequently assumed the role, but Weber departed the Murder Junkies in late 1996 to concentrate once more on the Chrome Cranks. To date the group has produced the seven-track EP Feed My Sleaze and the three-track single The Right to Remain Violent. Merle Allin also operates a separate enterprise dealing in tapes, with an emphasis on video documents of his brother.
