Biography
Music Blues delivers a heavy, sludge-filled sound as the one-man endeavor fronted by Stephen Tanner, who plays bass in Harvey Milk. Following a split from his girlfriend, Tanner took up residence alongside his Harvey Milk bandmate Creston Spiers; their initial plan involved crafting fresh songs for the renowned art-sludge band. Rather than pursuing that goal, Tanner addressed his emotional struggles through excessive drinking and repeated viewings of 90210, which sparked the idea for what became the Music Blues project. Those compositions eventually formed the basis of his first full-length release, Things Haven't Gone Well, issued by Thrill Jockey during 2014.
