Biography
In February 2000, Detroit, Michigan outfit Mutilated assembled around guitarists Russ Crossman and Ryan Hall plus drummer Tony Cosgrove; the band had launched under the name Decapitator and specialized in hyper-technical grindcore distinguished by repulsive lyrics in the manner of Cannibal Corpse. Once an instrumental debut demo appeared, Justin Emery was enlisted on vocals, allowing the first live dates in 2001 to feature support slots alongside equally brutal Mortician and Exhumed. Adam Meindel joined on bass before the 2003 arrival of the debut album Devirginated Genital Pulp, issued through Forever Underground Records.
