Biography
The Atlanta-based five-piece Muuy Biien came together under frontman Joshua Evans, merging short bursts of writhing punk energy with extended ambient pieces that stood in direct opposition. Completing the group were guitarists Park Miller and Robbie Rapp, bassist Xander Witt, and drummer Jacob Deel. Early recordings captured on four-track equipment surfaced as the EP Knife Fights in early 2012, with the debut LP This Is What Your Mind Imagines arriving later that year. Its raw punk tracks drew from sources spanning the Circle Jerks to the Fall, separated by drawn-out textural explorations that interrupted the sequence. Evans handled the entirely guitar-based ambient EP No One Is on My Side (For You) alone for its 2013 release, after which the sophomore album D.Y.I. (Do Yourself In) appeared the next year. The band resurfaced in 2016, enlisting David Barbe (Sugar) to produce the third LP Age of Uncertainty.
