Biography
Scarcely a year after forming, My Arcadia cut an EP alongside emo-pop producer Paul Leavitt, hit the road as an opening act across the East Coast, and won backing from PureVolume, which named the Bronx-based band one of the Top 20 Unsigned Artists of 2009. Jacqui Sandell’s charisma and vocal resemblance to Paramore’s Hayley Williams played a major role in solidifying the group’s reputation. Mike Costello, Chris Golom, Chris Ragone, and Alex Cahill meanwhile supplied the backbone for the band’s sturdy pop sound, allowing My Arcadia to keep expanding its audience in the months that followed and ultimately secure a place on the traveling Warped Tour in 2011.
