Biography
My Indigo represents the solo endeavor launched by Dutch singer and songwriter Sharon den Adel, who also serves as frontwoman for the symphonic metal band Within Temptation. Diverging from the intense sonic palette of her primary group, the project emphasizes contemporary pop textures through resonant synths, acoustic guitars, bombastic percussion, and den Adel's voice positioned front and center. In late 2017 she revealed the undertaking, noting that it stemmed from finally composing original material after overcoming writer's block, and she issued her debut solo single—likewise titled "My Indigo"—that November. Early the following year brought the second single "Crash and Burn," with the self-titled album appearing in April 2018.
