Biography
In Greenock, Scotland, the quirky collective My Latest Novel first assembled during spring 2005, its lineup comprising Chris Deveney on vocals, guitar and bass, Gary Deveney on vocals and guitar, Paul McGeachy on guitar, Laura McFarlane on vocals, violin and piano, and Ryan King on drums, all shaping the band’s dreamy indie rock textures. The group moved rapidly onto live stages, and the single “Sister Sneaker Sister Soul” earned them a Bella Union recording contract before 2005 ended. Spring and summer 2006 then brought support dates with Smog, British Sea Power and the Dears. Wolves arrived as the band’s debut album in fall 2006, followed by Deaths and Entrances in 2009.
